Bang-Jo Lim was born and raised in Seoul, where he obtained his education from elementary school through university.

While he was growing up, Bang-Jo's parents encouraged their son to aspire to become a civil servant and enjoy the accompanying job security and safety. Bang-Jo, however, had different ideas. Against his parents' wishes, he pursued his legal studies at the prestigious Sungkyun Kwan University, where he graduated with a degree in law.

After studying for and passing the lawyer's exam, Bang-Jo entered the Judicial Research & Training Institute. He then joined a maritime law firm located in Busan, which is one of the international port cities and has various infrastructure in marine business, with a desire to pursue a legal career in the fields of maritime law and business law.

Through more than 20 years’ practice, Bang-Jo is very experienced in handling the maritime matters such as collision of vessels and marine accident compensation. He, as one of the most distinguished maritime lawyers in Korea, provides legal services and consultation on maritime issues to the maritime sector.

Bang-Jo is fond of running as a way to release stress. He also enjoys listening to music as a way of altering his mood. He tends to listen to heavy metal on those long nights when he finds himself having to stay late at the office.
